With more of the airlines downsizing the allowable dimensions of carry-on luggage over the past couple of years, my old Kenneth Cole bag wasn’t useful anymore. This Swiss Gear has all of the features I wanted most, with good build quality and an affordable price. And if it holds up as well as my other Swiss Gear pieces, I should be good to go until Boeing and Airbus shrink the overhead bins again.

We are constantly traveling, (several flights a month with seven people) and have only cracked a wheel once. My children abuse these bags but no other brand can hold up as well as this one.

We still have it 10 years later, but as it was so gross on the outside we definitely needed a new one! I’m so happy that they’re still making it but with a few nice updates. The size is perfect for almost any trip, and it’s almost impossible to overfill past a 50 lb weight limit with clothes, shoes, and toiletries. The tie down straps on the inside are also really effective, and it’s fantastic having 4 wheels. This is a great checked item, for a great price!

This luggage fits EVERYTHING! For the size that it is, I was surprised at how much I was able to fit in it for my week long trip. It did end up having to be valeted instead of accompanying me on my flight as a carry-on, but that’s okay. It could have just been that it didn’t meet the particular airline’s requirements. Every airline is different. Overall, I am super happy with it! Super easy to maneuver and roll around.

I used this to replace my old luggage that I endearingly referred to as “Old Faithful”. It was a big brown heavy behemoth without any wheels. I needed something that would carry the same amount of stuff but that would weigh less and have wheels for easy transport when I travel alone and don’t have a friend who can help me haul Old Faithful when my arms get tired. This did the job perfectly. The inner compartments are useful: you can strap things down with two straps on the inside, there is a pouch for liquids, and there is a slit on the outside for identification. It is very light. The product was well priced and very high quality. I would definitely make this purchase again.Edit: This suitcase broke about a year ago. The weakness is in the wheels. But after debating whether to get an expensive and maybe more durable suitcase, I decided to just repurchase this one. It really is a great suitcase and even the more expensive ones will break. Luggage handlers are rough on luggage.

I really like this suitcase. I think it stands out and it is sturdy enough. Perfect fit in the airplane’s cabin space (but they did not let me take it on basic economy)! I have both sizes now 21 and 24. They’re both great. Some folks have not liked the handle bar and/or wheels as they mentioned they were a bit flimsy. They’re ok, not the most solid I have seen on a suitcase, but certainly solid enough to handle. If baggage handlers bang it around it won’t sustain major abuse, but I have not had any issues with it even during check in. Summary: I love it.

The bag is nicely made, and appears sturdy enough to put up a respectable fight if exposed to the tender mercies of airline luggage handlers — which is about all anyone can expect unless the thing is armor plated. This one will obviously be a lot tougher than thinner fabric, less expensive bags. 360 degree wheels let her pull it “sideways” down airplane aisles. There are enough handles on it to make it easy to get a form grip on, to lift in and out of overhead bins. The color, fit, and finish are attractive. As best as we can tell at this time, the bag’s dimensions are “carry on compliant” with all of the major airlines, so with luck we can avoid having to check it, and keep it that way.

Not Swiss Gear. Spend the extra amount on this company they will not let you down. I have a larger version of this and lugged it all over the Philippines for 1 month and still perfect. It was even dropped off of motor bike at 30 mph! It had one little scratch on it. Excellent product again Swiss Gear!

I have purchased three of these over the past 4 years. All have held up great! Even my younger children can pull their own suitcase. For this price, I don’t expect them to last 20 years. They are easy to roll around, no matter what direction. They fit the overhead bin perfectly. If you need extra room there is a zipper that opens the suitcase up another 2″ or so, but that makes the bag too big for overhead bin. I’d recommend these.
