Living on a ranch in South Texas, we have a ton of bugs around most of the year. I purchased a smaller on last year and the bulb burnt out so I picked this one up. The holes for bugs to get through are bigger allowing larger bugs to reach the zapper. After one night I had to clean the wires as it killed so many last night. Can’t really speak to durability as it’s been up less than 24 hours.

Man I just got this bug zapper, and it really works. We live by a river, and the mosquitoes are terrible, but I’m sure that this will do the job just fine, because it has zapped a lot of them so far. This item is a must if you like staying outdoors a lot. I can’t stand the smell of bug spray, and them tiki torches don’t work for me at all, so this was my last hope to be able to set outside again without getting eaten alive by those pesky bugs.

Was a little concerned when we opened the box. Like so many Black and Decker products, it looked a bit on the cheap side, very lightweight. BUT when we put it to use, we realized the light weight meant we could hang it with confidence on just about anything. We hung it on our back deck. We went from killing 4-5 flies a day in our kitchen (which opens onto the deck) to none! We can use our deck again. We keep it on day and night. The flies are almost completely gone, mosquitoes seem to be gone as well. It has even zapped some pesky bees. It has helped with the gnats, but not completely. Definitely worth the purchase and we’re thinking about getting another for our pool area (we have a large yard).

My front entry door is set back from the front of my house at the end of an 15-20 foot long outside covered ,open air hallway . The heat & humidity attract the fricking ,annoying ,pesky disease carrying mosquitos and other flying bugs, bees , gnats , flies, etc. I had another bug zapper set on top of a 18″ high end table right next to the front entry door. That cheap, no quality useless item stopped working within 30 days of purchase. I got this B & D Outdoor Electric UV pest killer. The bluish /purplish UV light light attracts the little suckers and zaps them DEAD DEAD DEAD. I just clean out the debris tray inside the base of the zapper. It just kills ’em DEAD DEAD DEAD. Easy, breezy – no fuss , no muss. I for sure will get another one when this one when needed. I may get another one for the back entry door. I’d highly recommend this item. Quality and it works VERY well !!! A VERY satisfied consumer….

Purchased this product to reduce the number of insects coming in from my screen door. Its been in use for 1 week, so far it has eliminated my flying insect problems during the evening hours. I place it appropriately 15ft away from the sliding door. Im very happy with this product!!👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽

I received this unit quickly and when it was plugged in, nothing. Checked current to unit, that was good. Took bottom cover off and the bulb had evidently been jarred loose somewhere as it was just loose. It plugs up into sockets at top and looks like the inner cover is meant to hold it secure but didn’t. Anyway, reseated the bulb and all was well. It’s a bit noisy but that’s a satisfying sound! I have it hanging on my back porch and it has killed so many bugs that I’m going to have to clean it after only 2 nights. Going to try to clean with compressed air as the brush method looks pretty tedious. Certainly does what I wanted it to do.

Our camper is seriously polluted with flying insects outside in both day and night. We’re staying very close to a pond and a small Creek so this explains some of it, but I don’t want to be cooped up in a camper all day because of annoying critters in nature.My husband hung this immediately and it wasn’t but a minute later that we had our first target eliminated. The satisfying sound of zapping is somewhat comforting when it comes to knowing you’ll be eating dinner out there shortly and that’s one less pest to annoy you when doing so.The range is incredible and it doesn’t bother us one bit. I bought this because I can’t use my patio due to the mosquitoes. After having this on my patio table for about 48 hours I decided to get the brush and clean the coils. Before doing that, I took off the bottom. The photo shows what was in the tray before I did any cleaning. I have a beautiful triple-trunk birch tree which I love. I didn’t realize we had a Japanese Beetle problem until I saw this. I an so thankful I bought this!
