Ok, so actually used this product as opposed to many who wrote review without using it. I paid for this and not being paid for review. I put on brown dirt patches in my lawn and divided sprinkler to come on same amount of time but in two time frames. After 1 month am getting fine grass on most places, not all but most. my advice do some patches and get the hang of it and then do others. Stuff does work. Bought first sprinkle box at Orchard because they said it grew grass on concrete (don’t believe it myself), and then bought this bag on amazon. The sprinkle can works great but only did about 5 or 6 patches. This will do probably 10 sf I would estimate more or less depending on thickness. For what it is, it is great.

I planted at the end of April when the temp was in the upper 60s low 70s and watered it every day for 7 days. The before and after pix were taken on day 14.

Awesome! Planted in central Florida. Planted rye on prepared soil. Let that grow a bit then planted this seed. Water ever morning with irrigation for 3 minutes. Temp avg day 70 and night 50’s. Came up after about 1.5 weeks. See picture. I will buy again. This seesis transcontinental SMG. Mow 0.5 – 1.5. Fertilize during growing season once a month. This is sports field grass. Tough against traffic, high drought tolerance, short germination time 7 – 14 days. If this does not grow. You are not following the directions. Thanks Scott’s! I have been waiting for a Bermuda like this!

So, I have two Golden Retrievers, one female and one male who squats when he urinates so lots of grass burn-but I figured out how to save the grass! I didn’t want to give the dogs any pills or things to give them stones or urinary issues so this is the best bet-after some research here’s my process: dig out the yellow burned grass and then turn the soil a bit, spread a thin layer of garden lime (ground limestone) and water the area (this helps to neutralize the nitrogen from the urine) and then leave that sit one day, then I use the EZ seed and follow the directions, two weeks-patches filled and grass green again. The blend they use must be more resistant because I am not having issues with the grass in those spots!

Have to admit… this does REALLY well.Somewhat skeptical at first reading other reviews that touted the amount of mulch compared to seed. But as you can see, the results were amazing… so much so that we’ve reordered twice for the problem areas we just couldn’t seem to fix.Notes:Yes; there’s a good bit of mulch. But it really does help you get much better results than if you had simply purchased seed outright. Previous attempts with straight seed have resulted, for us, in low germination and survival rates. Sure there’s a lot of mulch. But if most of the seed survives….It covers about 400 square feet… ish. Don’t skimp. It’s meant as a patching product, not a full scale yard replacement product. If you are using it to seed large areas, get enough of the product to cover it thoroughly.Heavy rain WILL wash it away, as it would any product. While it may not be convenient, try planting when you’ll have a week of no rain so you can water by hand. Don’t overwater or leave a sprinkler on it. It will wash away. Very bright sunny days WILL dry it out more quickly. It took ours about four days to sprout and about six days before it became noticeable. That was done with watering whenever the mulch changed appearance.Even seems to work very well when spread throughout areas that seem to be thinning.Haven’t seen ANY weed seeds sprouting.

Let me start by saying my wife thinks you always have to look at the amazon one star reviews before buying something. On this case I disagree. I think most (not all) 1 star reviews came from people that didn’t read the directions. The directions are simple but the 3rd step is most important: 1. rake the area to loosen ground soil, 2. Pour out the ez seed (I recommend almost an inch deep in bare areas), 3, numero tres, do this or die, WATER IT. And I mean water it. Three times a day is great, two will work. Treat it like a baby who needs diapers changed. It doesn’t cry! There’s no poop! It’s easier than a baby! In fact if you have babies, this is better, it’s an excuse to go outside and quietly water the lawn by yourself in silence!I’m going to post some pictures at some point, I’m on my third go around (in different areas). And twice now this season I’ve had good results in week, great results in two to three weeks (watering watering watering until week three).Sun and shade, though obviously sun needs more water. I’ve only done it in northern California grass growing season: April through October. I’ve used it to cover dog pee spots up to 12” wide and also clear weird invasive grass spots up to 3 or 5 feet wide in odd shapes. Please feel free to ask questions, but there are only three steps here..

I have lacrosse players and dogs and this stuff is amazing. My yard looked like a abandoned lot before this and it literally “grew anywhere” just like it said. The bag I planted last year actually came back strong this year so I put more down and it is working like a dream!

Im not one for writing reviews but as of late i always wonder about the bad reviews. So i thought i would counter some of the bad reviews with this product. If this grows grass for me, i can’t imagine it wouldn’t for you if you took care of the seedlings like you are suppose to. I like in Alaska, 1100 feet above sea leavel. I placed the seed in May when it was at most 50 degrees in the day. Wartered as recommended. About 1 week in, we had a cold snap, we had a frost. I thought the seed was done at that point. 3 weeks after palacement, i was going to give up. But just kept watering like i should. Just a few days after the three week mark, i could see grass. I was amazed even though we hadn’t had a day over 55 degrees. Also the slope this was planted on is at a 70 degree tilt. I agree, it will grow grass anywhere.. I watered the slope first then spread the seed and begun the watering process.

Great spot cover! We have quite a few holes in the backyard from the new puppies digging. They’re growing out of that stage now so I decided to fill them with some planting soil/sand mix, saturated that with water and then put about 3/4 in of EZ seed on top. Watered that about 3 times a day since it’s july and about 90 degrees in California. After just 5 days I noticed the first baby blades of grass that was about 1/2 inch high. Now it has been 8 days and I have 1 1/2 inch baby grass, still sparse, but it’s definitely growing in!! I thought I’d have to wait weeks to see growth, so happy with this purchase. I also love that the soil is dark when moist and gets lighter as it dries, really helps with knowing you need to water. It’s kind of pricey though. Pictures are from day 5 and day 8.

We purchased this to fill some patches in our backyard that were damaged by our puppy. This seed works like a charm. The one caveat is that you really do have to water it a bit every day. Once it takes off though, it grows pretty quickly! Within one week of planting this, we had 1 inch long grass blades. One month later, all the patches are gone. Highly recommended!
